In meteor garden, I was always curious to see what would happen if Hwa-Ze-Lei and San-Tsai got together. And now in another drama, they finally do! This song is on the top of my list of lyrics to memorize for my next karaoke outing.
Growing up, I kept hearing over and over "don't judge a book by its cover" and "it's what is on the inside that counts." I took this as meaning the inside counts for everything and the outward appearance counts for nothing. As a result, I've put minimal effort into researching clothes. My wardrobe is basically free t-shirts, novelty tees, and whatever jeans and dress shirts that are on sale.
But lately, I've been realizing my hypocrisy. While I've been expecting others to see past my looks, my own opinion of people is based mainly on their looks. "That girl in the mall is hot," or "I'm intimidated by that muscular guy in Abercrombie."
So now I'm on a quest to put more research into my clothes, just like how would I put research into buying a mp3 player. Yesterday, I took my coworkers advice and bought a t-shirt at armani exchange A|X for $22. Made of pima cotton, it's super-soft, and is slim around the waist. Also, at the advice of a good friend, I bought some black lo-top chuck taylors for $32. GQ says that athletic sneakers should be reserved for athletic activities, and classic sneakers for walking around the mall and stuff. Chuck taylors look good with jeans and cargo shorts, and appear in a lot of pants advertisements too.
Also, I came across this link
on how to tie shoelaces to prevent them from un-tying. Basically, it's
bunny-ears but with both ears going through the hole. http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/secureknot.htm
